I have been going to Ami for years, so I was already super confident in One Bridal Company. As usual, they exceeded my expectations! Ami, Parrish, & Ashley were incredible (& insanely fun!) to work with. We had a huge wedding party & everyone looked beautiful. The morning of the wedding, I decided I wanted a completely different hairstyle (which Ami pulled off flawlessly, of course) & we had a few more girls ask if they could get hair & makeup done.. the girls had no trouble fitting in my sister in law for hair & makeup, & 3 flower girls’ hair! Not only did we ALL look PERFECT, but having Ami, Parrish, & Ashley there was such a huge help. The entire morning was like a big party & Ami & the girls also helped calmed my nerves! As an... read moreI originally booked One Bridal Company to do hair & makeup for my wedding in IL on 12.05.2020. As an out of state bride I had incredible email communication with Amber and the salon owner Ami! Any time I had a question it was answered within the day! In September 2020 I had my hair & makeup trial. Becki did such an incredible job! 3.5 weeks before my wedding my fiancé and I made the decision to cancel our wedding in Illinois due to the governor’s orders limiting social gatherings. I reached out to the salon explaining that I had to cancel and they were extremely understanding of the circumstances. They were able to issue me a full refund for mine and all of my girls’ hair and makeup deposits. The only thing I didn’t get back was my initial deposit. Even though I didn’t end up using One Bridal Company for my wedding I was extremely pleased with my hair & makeup trial and I’m so grateful they were understanding of my situation and issued me a refund! I would definitely recommend them to other brides! read less

Cassie,... read moreOne Bridal company was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day this past Saturday, 9/28/19. Cassie, the Bridal Coordinator, was super responsive and helpful throughout the ~9 months I communicated with her before my big day. Their quality and expertise is unmatched. All of my bridesmaids looked beautiful, and the stylists were amazing to work with! They traveled to our venue for getting ready, which I highly recommend as it removes the stress of that part of the day. The team was even super accommodating when one of my bridesmaids was running late to hair and makeup due to a canceled flight. They really took care of us by tackling 9 total services quickly and even finished early! Paty was the stylist who did my (bride) hair & makeup and I loved everything about it- I can't say enough how beautiful I felt during my big day and how many compliments we all received on the quality of the stylists' work. The women at One Bridal did everything they could to make my day of wedding run as smooth as possible. They are incredibly talented at what they do and were able to finish up all of us in a timely matter. It was great that they were able to come out to my parents house to do everything - which I highly recommend! Makes things more relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely go and get your trial done prior to your wedding day, though. I ended up changing both my hair and makeup ideas after the trial, and my makeup/hair woman was very receptive to my vision. read less

It was overall a good experience, but the only thing that could have been an issue was that when I arrived at the salon was waiting for my specific makeup artist to arrive that did my makeup trial. It wasn't until about 2 hours later that the owner told me in a very polite way that she wasn't able to make it, but she would have me work with their best makeup artist who still did a great job. It was handled well at the salon, as the bride, I just would have appreciated being told in advance just so I could know. Overall, myself and my bridesmaids did have a good experience at this salon. read less

I cried for an hour during my wedding day.. not worth the hassle or heartbreak.. choose someone else.. read less

Cassie, the Bridal Coordinator, was super responsive and helpful throughout the ~9 months I communicated with her before my big day. Their quality and expertise is unmatched. They traveled to our venue for getting ready, which I highly recommend as it removes the stress of that part of the day. When I called concerned that two stylists wouldn't be enough for my bridal party (6 bridesmaids, plus two mothers) they were very accommodating and sent three stylists instead. My only negative would be that I didn't get a written invoice, and that was a little confusing when I had to put 50% down, and then pay the total in full before the wedding. I had never heard of a hair/makeup service where the payment was done that way. While not a huge deal, it would have been nice to have an invoice to keep track of everything! The stylists were great on the day of, and I was very happy with how I looked! It was a large expense and I wanted it perfect. I looked over One Bridal Co. as one of the first vendors but was weary because the price was rather high. I later decided to do a trial for the wedding and I completely changed my mind. Ami did my hair and makeup on both days (the trial and the wedding) and it couldn't have been more perfect. She listened to what I wanted and was open for my opinion. At the trial I decided that I wanted to do a half-up do for the ceremony and put it all up for the reception. Since they were at the same place (Hotel Baker in St. Charles, a few block from the salon) Ami offered to come to the hotel and put it up for me. I was planning on having one of my bridesmaids do it but this was much better. She came exactly on time when I needed her and put it up in a perfect style. I could not have been happier. They were prompt and extremely efficient in keeping us on schedule, and everyone’s hairstyles were exactly what they wanted and looked amazing! I did the airbrush makeup and my hair and make-up stayed put from 10am all the way until we got back to our hotel at 2am, even through 2 hours of pictures in windy downtown Chicago. We all received complements all day on our hairstyles and it was such a relief to be able to trust that my hairstyle and make up would stay put and have one less thing to think about throughout the day. They were both very patient, including with two very young flower girls, and really took the time make sure that we were getting exactly the hairstyle we wanted. I really wanted to wear my hair curled, but my curls always fall flat within a few hours. Ami really went the extra mile to make the hairstyle I wanted work for me and even squeezed me in for a last minute second trial so that I could be sure that the hairstyle was going to work before my wedding day. I'm not one of those girls who likes playing dress up, or visits the make up counters often. I wanted to look like a better version of myself on my wedding and Tai helped me get there. She worked on me for my trial, using photos I brought in and then talking me through different ideas.

We decided to go w/ airbrushed makeup (something I was scared of, thinking I'd look too done up, but it felt very light!) - the colors and techniques she applied were good - I did look like myself, not a stranger. When I wanted a slightly darker color for they eyeshadow it wasn't a problem.

Tai and 3 other girls traveled to my hotel and arrived by 6:30am on the morning of the wedding! The 3 stylists worked in tandem on my girls as well as on the my mom and (now) mother in law. Tai worked exclusively on me - which was great since she did my trial!

All the girls were happy were with hair and/or make up. The hair stayed in place through-out the day and the make-up stayed in place too!

Tai was a pleasure to work with, very professional, talkative - but not too much and she worked diligently all morning! read less

I searched and did a lot review reading and finally found Ami and her crew. The trial was great and relaxing. Ami listened to all my ideas and incorporated them all. I do not really wear makeup and the airbrush made everything very light and pliable. I loved my hair. She did such an amazing job creating a romantic, fun, natural hair style that stayed in all night!

My girls and the moms got their hair and makeup done as well. They all felt very taken care of and Ami and her helpers were great with ideas and suggestions for each girls look. The moms looked radient and glowing but not overdone. Their hair stayed in place all night.

In regards to payment I have seen mentioned by other reviewers I beleive you get what you pay for. I wanted at least one day in my life where I looked flawless and I knew I needed help because I was certian I could not do it on my own! Ami was great at communicating what she was doing every step of the way. Wonderful at getting back to my phone questions, professional staff and making payments were simple and easy. She was very flexible with time and location changes the day of.

I have been in other weddings where the stylist just did what she wanted then when the bride commented she was hoping for something different said it was too late so this alone made my day. Alexa and Becki did the hair and makeup for our entire crew and everyone was thrilled! I was more of a diva in the trial than I expected as I don't wear much makeup or pay much attention to my hair so I kept having Alexa change it to look softer and more like me and I was SO happy with the final product! Being relaxed when you don't have a wedding planner is pretty important in my experience. When I first came across OS&BC, they had glowing reviews on google. They even had the awards to prove how great they are. What bride doesn't want the best? I knew that they were a match not just by the glowing reviews and awards but also their salon services offered. They are up to date with all the newest and greatest trends. To me, those kind of details matter.Upon arriving I couldn't help but notice the charming older house that is a now salon. It truly was a welcomed surprise! The salon also occupies two floors which is wonderful for clients and their individual needs. As soon as you walk in you just get a wonderful family vibe, and everyone is so polite and welcoming. With all of this at the forefront, my mother were even more excited for our consultation to begin. Melanie did my makeup whereas Alexa did my mother's hair, and then we would eventually switch. I was going for more of a natural look for my makeup and very Art Deco for my hair and both Melanie and Alexa more than delivered. Both my mother and myself were more than pleased, and I even planned further appointments with the salon. I also wanted to get my eyebrows waxed, but hadn't gotten them done in a really long time and Amanda really came through last minute. She, in my opinion, is truly the best. She makes you feel comfortable, she is a great conversationalist and really listens to what you want. As for my wedding, everyone was on-time and more than helpful even helping me with the last minute "to-do's".
